The MLS has been characterized by bringing great stars, among which we can highlight Zlatan Ibrahimovic, David Beckham, Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernández, Carlos Vela, Wayne Rooney, Kaká, Bastian Shweinsteiger, Nani, to mention just a few of the world’s elite players who have come to play in the North American league. In addition, other names such as David Silva, Luis Suarez, Radamel Falcao, Neymar, James Rodriguez, among others, have been heard.
The latest to join the list of great figures coming to MLS could be the German Mesut Ozil, who would be in the plans of Los Angeles Football Club, a team that leads the MLS Western Conference and that under the command of Steve Cherundolo has only one defeat in the whole season, in the Traffic Classic against Los Angeles Galaxy.
According to his longtime friend and former Turkey international Ridvan Dilmen, who has also been a role model for the 2014 World Cup winner, Özil would already have an offer on the table from the Californian squad, this amid reports that Fenerbahce want to cancel his contract two seasons early.
“I meet with Mesut every two weeks. I know of an interest from Los Angeles. I saw a message about that,” the former Turkey and Fenerbahce winger told Turkish media outlet known as TRT.

Why was Özil suspended?
Although the German is under contract until 2024 with the Turkish club, he was excluded from Ismail Kartal’s squad for an unspecified reason in March and his future at the club is now in doubt.
Local media such as DHA and BILD claimed that the German played a leading role in a scene in which he reproached the coach for his decision. The situation could have reached the point that Özil threw his boots to the ground and even cursed his manager.
However, the former Arsenal star’s agent, Erkut Sogut, has indicated that the player wants to stay at Fenerbahce and will return to the team as soon as the off-field problems are resolved.
